1993Jennifer Harder, J.D. '98, joined Sacramento law firm Downey, Brand, Seymour & Rohwer's natural resources department. Harder formerly served as a law clerk for Justice Alexander Bryner of the Alaska Supreme Court. (appeared in the Spring 2000 issue)   Bryan Kochis lives in Colorado Springs, Colo., and works as the chief technical officer for Emergency Computer Services Inc., overseeing the company's consulting, Web site design and networking services. Kochis was married in 1997 and can be contacted at bdkochis@hotmail.com. (appeared in the Spring 2000 issue)    Lily Kuan works for an interior design firm, Mark Lintott Design, in Taipei, Taiwan. She and her husband, Lawrence, had a son, Benjamin Tien-Jie Liu, in November. (appeared in the Spring 2000 issue)    Joseph Santoso, M.D., was named the first holder of the Faculty Professorship in Obstetrics and Gynecology Honoring Doctors LeBlanc, Little and Powell at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Santoso has also won numerous awards for his teaching since he arrived at the university in 1997. (appeared in the Spring 2000 issue)    Michael Ziccardi, D.V.M., M.P.V.M. '94, recently left his position at the Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN) to develop the Institute for Wildlife Infectious Disease at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. The first epidemiologist ever employed at a zoo, Ziccardi is currently examining the effect of diseases on the conservation efforts of zoo-based species and is also developing a central database for medical and husbandry information for various animal species. During his time with OWCN, Ziccardi developed protocols for dealing with birds injured by oil spills. He hopes to complete a doctorate this year. (appeared in the Spring 2000 issue)    Laurie Bjornson Slez was inducted into the Bishop O'Dowd High School Hall of Fame in February for her achievements in athletics. She is an account executive for Claremont Behavioral Services. (appeared in the Summer 2000 issue)    Christopher Tatara is an environmental toxicologist with the National Marine Fisheries Service. He assists with the toxicological aspects of endangered fish recovery in California. After graduating from UC Davis, Tatara attended the University of Georgia, Athens, receiving a doctorate in December. He and his wife, Catherine '94, live in Santa Rosa with their two daughters. (appeared in the Summer 2000 issue)    (Lauren) Miel Price Novak is an attorney with Toller & Novak LLP, a law firm in St. Helena, where she specializes in estate planning. She married a physician, Michael R. Novak, earlier this year. (appeared in the Fall 2000 issue)    Lisa (Armentrout) Cordova is the teenage dating violence program coordinator at Youth Eastside Services in Bellevue, Wash. Her husband, Allen, is a senior postdoctoral fellow with the Reconnecting Youth Prevention Research Program at the University of Washington School of Nursing in Seattle. After graduating from UC Davis, the two married and moved to Denver, Colo., where Lisa completed a master's in social work in 1996 and Allen completed a doctorate in clinical psychology in 2000, both at the University of Denver. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)    Pettit Gilwee launched Pettit Gilwee Public Relations in August, an agency headquartered in Lake Tahoe. She is also a part-time instructor of public relations courses at Lake Tahoe Community College. Gilwee completed a master's degree in public relations at the University of Denver in 1997. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)    Artist Andre Janitzky recently exhibited a series of paintings at the John Natsoulas Galley in Davis. The works explore the Davis train depot in different seasons and times of day. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)    Joshua Ramey-Renk completed a summer intensive language program in French at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Ramey-Renk is currently enrolled in the M.B.A. program at the institute's Fisher Graduate School of International Business. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)    Since graduating, Jonathan McQueen has worked for General Atomics, helping develop the Predator Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, a remote-controlled airplane used by the military for surveillance, and as a manufacturing engineer for Qualcomm in San Diego. He recently received an M.B.A. degree from Columbia Business School and is now developing a wireless tracking device for heavy construction equipment for Qualcomm in Washington, D.C. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Kristin Peterson-Salgado and her husband, Paul Salgado, welcomed their first child in May, Brandon Paul Salgado. Peterson-Salgado is an optometrist with the San Diego Eye and Laser Center. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Dan Rich, M.S., joined ECO:LOGIC Engineering, a company specializing in municipal water, wastewater and stormwater facility planning, design and construction management. Rich is designing a new regional wastewater reclamation plant for the city of Lincoln, managing a wastewater master plan for the city of Woodland and assisting the city of West Sacramento with connection of its sewer system to the Sacramento regional wastewater treatment plant. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Rachel Wettergreen is assistant sports editor for the San Jose Mercury News. She will be the paper's on-site editor at the Olympic Games in Salt Lake next year. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Stephan Andranian and his wife, Sydni (Hampton), had a daughter, Emma Lucille, born in September. (appeared in the Summer 2001 issue)    Story Kirshman was named national participant program director for Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit agency that provides assistant dogs to people with disabilities. In this position, Kirshman oversees services provided to applicants, candidates, students and graduates of the organization's team training program. She has been with CCI since March 2000, when she joined the organization as a research and administrative assistant in the national canine program office. (appeared in the Summer 2001 issue)    Joanne Ayers, a project manager at Barclays Global Investors, and Shaun Ayers, a staff researcher in the environmental science and policy department at UC Davis, had a baby, Allison Laura Ayers, in August. They live in Davis. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Ed Darack has published his third book, Wild Winds: Adventures in the Highest Andes (AlpenBooks Publishing, 2001). The book chronicles expeditions to Aconcagua, Ojos del Salado, Cerro Pissis, Llullaillaco and Sajama, five of the highest mountains in the Western Hemisphere.
