1993Ellen Crecelius earned her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Connecticut in 2002 and now teaches economics at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., and works as a GRE scorer for the Educational Testing Service. She writes that she spends her free time "swing dancing with my husband, Jim Bathgate, and petting my two cats, Mandy and Teddy." (appeared in the Fall 2003 issue) • James Meyers has returned from serving in Afghanistan under Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force--Afghanistan. For his service, Meyers was awarded the Bronze Star from Gov. Gray Davis in a June ceremony. (appeared in the Fall 2003 issue) • Michael Ziccardi, D.V.M., M.P.V.M. '94, was appointed director of the Oiled Wildlife Care Network, a wildlife rescue network along the California coast that is managed by the UC Davis Wildlife Health Center. Ziccardi has been a veterinarian with the network since 1997. (appeared in the Fall 2003 issue) • Terri Arnold teaches English at Sacramento High School and manages and promotes entertainers and organizes events through her company, TDA Entertainment. (appeared in the Winter 2004 issue) • John Conger, J.D., has been made partner at Stockton law firm Brown, Hall, Shore & McKinley. He has practiced business and personal injury litigation at the firm since 1999. Conger and his wife, Alexandra, live in Stockton. (appeared in the Winter 2004 issue) • Edward Mar, Cred. '94, and Dorothy Yee were married in June. Edward teaches high school science, and Dorothy is creative services manager at Carlen Media Group, a marketing communications firm. (appeared in the Winter 2004 issue) • Janet (Lorton) Moran and her husband, Dan Moran, had their first child, Max Joseph, in August. Janet, a former ski racing coach, is now a full-time mom, and Dan is a marketing executive with Placer Title Co. The family lives in Soda Springs. (appeared in the Winter 2004 issue) • Dave Gesler earned his Ph.D. in communication from the University of Tennessee and is now an assistant professor of organizational communication at Murray State University in Kentucky. His wife, Ashley (Stevens) ’92, is a nurse practitioner, and they have two daughters, Eleri and Gwyneth. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue) • Peter Kim was named chief marketing officer of Client Dynamics, an Irvine-based developer of software for sales professionals. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue) • Rosanna Wong Yick-ming, M.A., Ph.D. ’97, received a Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Honoree Award in Hong Kong for her efforts to achieve the goals and ideals of the society through outstanding business and managerial leadership. She is executive director of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue) • Seth Merewitz, J.D. ’97, was named a partner of McDonough Holland & Allen, a law firm in Sacramento. Merewitz is a member of the firm’s redevelopment, public law and land use section. (appeared in the Summer 2004 issue) • Joanne (Gougeon) Ayers is a project manager for Barclays Global Investors in Rancho Cordova. Her husband, Shaun, works as a staff researcher in the environmental science and policy department at UC Davis. They welcomed their second child, Zachary, in May. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue) • In 2000, Zaida “Pettit” Gilwee launched a Lake Tahoe-based communications agency that specializes in tourism and recreation. She gave birth to a son, Tavis, in March. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue) • Attorneys Seth Merewitz, J.D. ’97, and Tyson Shower, J.D. ’97, were named shareholders in McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a Northern California law firm. Merewitz specializes in redevelopment, public law and land use; Shower specializes in construction law. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue) • Suzanne Richards, an interactive writer and editor for Publicis Dialog San Francisco, married Eric Johnson, a staff attorney for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, in June. The couple lives in San Francisco with their Boston terrier, Sammy Davis Jr. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue) • Greg van Kesteren has been promoted to vice president of A.G. Edward & Sons Inc., a national brokerage firm based in St. Louis, Mo. He was previously a branch manager of the firm’s Napa Valley offices and currently lives in American Canyon. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue) • Melissa Clark is creator and executive producer of the cartoon Braceface, which features the voice of actress Alicia Silverstone and which recently finished its fourth season on ABC/USA Network. (appeared in the Winter 2005 issue) • Kristin Drumm races bicycles competitively and won her age category in the Master’s National Criterium Championships in Park City, Utah, in July. She works as a city planner with the Marin County Community Development Agency and lives in Novato with her husband of three years. (appeared in the Winter 2005 issue) • Cynthia Fair is deputy director for administration for the State Council on Developmental Disabilities.
