1994Erwin Danneels, M.S., recently joined the Department of Management at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts as an assistant professor. He was previously a visiting assistant professor of marketing at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University for two years. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)   Katrina Schimmoeller Peiffer, M.A., Ph.D. '98, has written Coyote at Large: Humor in American Nature Writing (The University of Utah Press, 2000). Peiffer lives in English, Ind. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)    Ahtossa Piroozfar works with the corporate and technology group at the Silicon Valley office of law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. After graduating from UC Davis, Piroozfar completed a J.D./M.B.A. at Santa Clara University in 1998. She lives in San Francisco. (appeared in the Winter 2001 issue)    Kristina "Tina" Dong is an elementary school teacher in the Bay Area and is engaged to be married this summer to Matthew Pavao, also an elementary school teacher. The two met while both were enrolled in the teaching credential program at San Francisco State University. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    Anthony Farrington was elected a Lake County supervisor and took office in January. Three years ago, he began teaching life skills classes to at-risk children at middle schools throughout Lake County while concurrently launching his county supervisor campaign. Before this he worked for the Pete Wilson for President Campaign, the California Manufacturer's Association and then the Regional Council of Rural Counties. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    Channa McNiel has been promoted to vice president of Deen+Black Public Relations in Sacramento, where she manages the firm's technology accounts. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    Eileen Mize is living in Ireland where she has been participating in the Traditional Irish Dance Program at the University of Limerick's Irish World Music Center. She writes that she is also "honing my skills in the area of desktop publishing and Web design" and plans to return to San Francisco in May. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    Katrina Schimmoeller Peiffer, M.A., Ph.D. '98, has published a book, Coyote at Large: Humor in American Nature Writing. Coyote at Large examines the way nature writers use humor to reach their audiences with messages about often dire environmental situations. Peiffer lives in English, Ind. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    Amanda Reynolds completed an M.B.A. at Saint Mary's College in Moraga while working full-time as manager of the In-Store Banking Property Management Group at Wells Fargo Bank. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    J.R. Campbell, M.F.A. '96, assistant professor at Iowa State University in Ames, recently exhibited his digitally printed textiles in a two-person show at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and at the CAD Expo in New York. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    John and Estrella (Velasco) Falkenroth had their first child, James Patrick, in March. The two are both chiropractors practicing in Aptos. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Nicole Fisher is training for the Oct. 28 Marine Marathon, a fund-raiser for the Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Erin Kew, after working in the sports medicine field for four years, now plans to change careers and is pursuing a master's degree to teach anatomy/physiology at the junior college level. She lives in the East Bay. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Nathaniel Levine is a senior graphic artist at the Army Times Publishing Co., which produces four newspapers and three trade publications for the Department of Defense. He lives in Vienna, Va., with his wife, Betsy, and their two children. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    After serving as its managing director since 1998, Saskia Mills was named executive director of the California Voter Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing new technology to improve democracy. Mills previously served as a program director for Project Vote Smart, worked on a California Assembly campaign and interned at the White House. Mills lives in Davis with her husband and daughter. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Terri Chung is engaged to marry David Smith. They plan a September wedding in the Bay Area. Chung, an optometrist, and Smith, a computer consultant for the credit-card company Visa, share an interest in scuba diving. They live in the Sacramento area. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Karyn (Piche) Gonzales and Matt Gonzales '95 had their first child, Abigail Grace, in August. They live in Denver, Colo., where Matt teaches agriculture at a local high school and Karyn is a healthcare consultant for McKesson Corp. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Erika Olson, a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, married Mike Wilson in September at Lake Tahoe. They live in Incline Village, Nev. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Robert Orth married Jennifer Schmidt '96 last May in San Luis Obispo. They met through Alpha Phi Omega, a service organization on the UC Davis campus. Recently, Schmidt received her master's degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Orth received a medical degree from Creighton University, and the couple moved to Overland Park, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City. Orth is a first-year pediatrics resident at the University of Kansas Medical Center, while Schmidt is a social worker at a local domestic violence shelter. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    After receiving a D.D.S. degree from the University of the Pacific and completing a one-year general practice residency at the Veterans Administration on Mare Island, Kenneth Wong has now started a new residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland. His wife, Shelley Wong '93, earned an R.N. degree and is currently finishing her master's degree to be a family nurse practitioner at Samuel Merritt College in Oakland. She works at UC San Francisco in the pediatric intensive care unit. The couple also had their first child, Justin Kenneth Wong, in June. They live in San Francisco. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)
