1997Eric Nims, J.D., has joined the San Francisco office of the Arter & Hadden LLP law firm, after serving as an associate of Neumiller & Beardslee in Stockton. (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)   Andrew "Drew" Wood, Ph.D., an assistant professor of history at the University of Tulsa, recently published Revolution in the Street: Women, Workers and Urban Protest in Veracruz, 1870-1927 (Scholarly Resources Inc.). (appeared in the Spring 2001 issue)    Justin Guerin married Julie Stabblebine in 1999. That same year he received a master's degree in kinesiology from Pennsylvania State. He received a master's in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University earlier this year. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Thomas Heise, M.A., is working on a Ph.D. in English literature at New York University, and his essay on F. Scott Fitzgerald will be published this year in a book on Fitzgerald's life and writing. Heise's poetry has recently appeared in Indiana Review, Columbia: A Journal of Art and Literature and The Southern Humanities Review. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Linda Rau, M.B.A., was named director of resource management for University Relations at UC Davis in August. She is responsible for budget and financial management, human resources, technology planning and support, and facilities and space planning for the unit. She has worked for UC since 1974. (appeared in the Fall 2001 issue)    Rachele Baker received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May and plans to return to California to work in an equine veterinary practice. (appeared in the Summer 2001 issue)    Nicole Noorigian joined the Center for Reproductive Law and Policy in March as a fellowship attorney for the Federal Legislative Program. In this position, she works with the center's Washington, D.C., staff to protect women's reproductive rights in Congress, research legislative initiatives and produce advocacy materials. She also acts as coordinator for the office's legal intern program. Noorigian graduated from the California Western School of Law in San Diego in the spring of last year. (appeared in the Summer 2001 issue)    John Reedy developed the Web site www.DavisHousing.com to aid Davis students in the grueling task of finding a place to live. The free site allows users to search for roommates and housing with specified options, such as price and amenities. (appeared in the Summer 2001 issue)    Norman Stolzoff, Ph.D., recently had published Wake the Town and Tell the People, a book on Jamaican dancehall culture that is based on 18 months of fieldwork in Kingston, Jamaica. Wake the Town has been praised in reviews in both academic and popular publications, including Vibe magazine. Stolzoff is presently working on a documentary video on Jamaican dancehall music and culture. He is the director of qualitative research at King, Brown and Partners in Sausalito, specializing in ethnographic and observational research. (appeared in the Summer 2001 issue)    Catherine Cocks, Ph.D., has had a book published, Doing the Town: The Rise of Urban Tourism in the United States, 1850-1915 (University of California Press). The book explores the history of recreational travel and sightseeing in U.S. cities, illustrating how urban tourism helped erode Victorian culture and fashion a modern America. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Todd Feinberg has been appointed to work on special projects for the director of the state's Employee Development Department. He was previously a senior associate for L.B. Hayhurst & Associates, a management and human resources consulting firm. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Greg Price was named to the International Interior Design Association's Northern California Chapter board of directors for 2001-2002 as the Sacramento city center director. Price is an account manager for Miles Treaster & Associates in West Sacramento. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Erin Megan (Jones) Walters was married in Santa Cruz in September to Blair McGuire Walters, a corporate attorney. Erin works for the city of Sunnyvale as a city planner and will begin work on a master's degree in urban and regional planning at San Jose State University in 2002. The couple lives in Los Gatos. (appeared in the Winter 2002 issue)    Scott Brown has joined the Detroit office of the law firm Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone PLC as an associate in the bankruptcy and workout practice group. He lives in Ann Arbor, Mich. (appeared in the Spring 2002 issue)    David Cleary, M.A., had his short story "All Our Sins Forgotten" adapted into an episode of the Sci-fi Channel's series Welcome to Paradox, with the lead part played by Henry Rollins. Cleary works in San Francisco as a story writer for an Internet game company called Xulu. (appeared in the Spring 2002 issue)    Holly Huffer, a senior researcher at University Hospital Lewisham in London, received her Ph.D. in psychology in December from the University of Manchester. (appeared in the Spring 2002 issue)    Michael Shibata, test development engineer at Maxim Integrated Products in Sunnyvale, got married in November to Melba Laroya, a medical assistant in San Jose, who emigrated from the Philippines five years ago. (appeared in the Spring 2002 issue)    Tamara (Appel) Burg graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in May and begins a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Louis University, St. Mary's Hospital in July. (appeared in the Summer 2002 issue)    Carrie (Stanfield) Haverty completed an M.S. degree in genetic counseling at UC Irvine, then moved to Boston where she is now working as a genetic counselor at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is married to Peter Haverty. (appeared in the Summer 2002 issue)    Patrick Len, Ph.D., recently exhibited his comic page art at the Cafe Roma in Davis. His comic strip "Did You Know? By NK Particle" has been presented online at www.waiferx.com for the past three years, and his work has appeared in the Sacramento Comic Press News since 1990. Len also teaches introductory physics part time at UC Davis and Sonoma State University. (appeared in the Summer 2002 issue)
