| 2012Rose Wilson recently completed a four-month internship in Kaiserslautern, Germany, through Camp Adventure Youth Services, which sends college students to U.S. military installations to run camps and other kids activities. She heads next to a three-month internship at a U.S. Navy base in Bahrain.
(appeared in the Spring 2013 issue) • After an internship at Merlot Marketing in Sacramento, Samantha Bosio was hired by the marketing agency in May as a public relations assistant account coordinator. She lives in Sacramento.
(appeared in the Fall 2013 issue) • Veronica Martinez is serving in the nation’s first class of FEMA Corps, a new unit of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps devoted to disaster preparedness and response. She began her 10-month term in Denver in February.
(appeared in the Fall 2013 issue) • Veronica “V” Martinez is international program coordinator for Camp Counselors USA’s work experience program, which places young people from around the world in seasonal jobs.
(appeared in the Spring 2014 issue) • Rebeca (Lopez) Castellucci, of Woodland, died on August 21. She was a teacher.

(appeared in the Summer 2014 issue) • Kourtney Lampedecchio, M.F.A., a Shingle Springs set designer, died in February at age 33.
(appeared in the Summer 2014 issue) • Rachel E. Carter’s first novel, The Black Mage: First Year, was published as an e-book and paperback by Astraea Press in August. The Amazon best-selling young adult fantasy is the first of a four-book series. Carter lives in Placerville. She is pursuing a teacher certification at Central Washington University while working at an alternative high school. (appeared in the Fall 2014 issue) • Rose Wilson was featured in a Q&A in the Okinawa, Japan, edition of the Stars and Stripes newspaper in August for her work supervising counselors at Camp Adventures, a program run by the University of Northern Iowa for military children on bases around the world. As a child, she learned to swim at a Camp Adventure at U.S. Marine Camp Foster in Okinawa. | 2013Two weeks after joining ACRT vegetation management company in August as a consulting utility forester, T. Chase Bulkin was sent to the Sierra Nevada’s massive Rim Fire. He and his crew identified thousands of burned trees that needed to be removed because of the hazard they pose to utility lines.
(appeared in the Fall 2013 issue) • Former Aggie football punter and kick-off specialist Colton Schmidt signed a three-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers in July. He joined the team as an undrafted free agent, and was later placed on waivers and claimed by the Cleveland Browns.
(appeared in the Fall 2013 issue) • Sarah Lamborn, D.V.M., was featured in an article in the Stockton Record newspaper in October for her efforts to turn around the overwhelmed Stockton Animal Shelter.
(appeared in the Spring 2014 issue) • Gianna Zappettini, Cred., teaches second grade at Gardner Bulls Elementary School in Los Altos Hills. She is working on a master’s degree at UC Davis.
(appeared in the Spring 2014 issue) • Christopher Levy, Scotts Valley, died at age 22 on June 24. He was an Aggie’s baseball relief pitcher.
(appeared in the Spring 2014 issue) • Eddie Yoo, a Peace Corps volunteer in Kyrgyzstan, spent a week away from service to play an ancient mancala-like game, toguz korgool, in the first World Nomad Games. With only two hours of training and a week of practice, Yoo placed 10th out of 21 and helped the US team place fifth. (appeared in the Fall 2014 issue) |
| 2014Self Lender, a company co-founded by James Garvey to help consumers establish good credit records, was one of 26 teams selected to compete in the Start-up Battlefield contest at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014 conference in September. The Denver-based firm was runner-up for Accenture’s Open Innovation Enterprise Disrupter Award. (appeared in the Fall 2014 issue) |
