2000Colleen Brogenski, M.S., is in Antarctica doing research on the active volcano Mt. Erebus as part of the Teachers Experiencing the Antarctic and Arctic program. She teaches eighth-grade earth science at St. John’s School in Houston, Texas. Her journals are online at tea.rice.edu/tea_brogenskifrontpage.html. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)   Kevin Elliott is currently serving in the Peace Corps in Bulgaria. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    Joren Keylock was named a Rolf C. Syvertsen Scholar at Dartmouth Medical School in New Hampshire for his academic achievement, leadership qualities, personal attributes and community involvement. He will graduate this spring. His wife, Lisa, is a high school math teacher. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    Anne Morello and Andrew MacDonald ’01, who met at UC Davis, were married in November in Berkeley. MacDonald is a development engineer at Chiron in Emeryville, and Morello is in the graduate program in clinical psychology at San Francisco State. Their wedding party included Jason Dunne ’01, Tracy Powers ’00, Maya Rodriguez ’00 and Laura Wetter ’05. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    Julie Saqueton, M.B.A., chief financial officer at KVIE, the Public Broadcasting System outlet in Sacramento, was one of six people age 40 and under called “worth following” in the January issue of Comstock’s Magazine. She and her husband, Wil, have two children. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    Ian Thomas and Megan Stebbins ’01 were married in September. Groomsmen included Scott Darmstadt ’01, Shie Benaderet ’02 and Brian Kelly ’98. The couple lives in Walnut Creek, where Thomas is a commercial real estate agent, and Stebbins is a registered dietitian. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    Kylie Ware married Timothy Heintz in September. She does public relations work for Barracuda Networks in Cupertino. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    David Yee, administrative assistant and substitute teacher for the Elk Grove School District, plans to obtain a teaching credential and teach biology at the high school or junior high level. (appeared in the Spring 2004 issue)    Lynn Adler, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., was awarded a seed grant as part of the AdvanceVT program, which promotes the careers of women in science and engineering at the university. (appeared in the Summer 2004 issue)    Jessica (Ladny) Evans and her husband, Robert, welcomed their first daughter, Elizabeth Ardis, in March. The family lives in Show Low, Ariz. (appeared in the Summer 2004 issue)    Xavier Gutierrez joined Pircher, Nichols & Meeks, a national real-estate law firm, as an associate in the real-estate department. He is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. (appeared in the Summer 2004 issue)    Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Larry Satterfield was designated a naval flight officer after 18 months of training in Pensacola, Fla. (appeared in the Summer 2004 issue)    Amy Whitlatch received an M.A. in public history from California State University, Sacramento, in December and now works as the director of the Old Sacramento Living History Program. (appeared in the Summer 2004 issue)    Jocelyn Colbert received her law degree and governmental affairs certificate in May from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in Sacramento. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue)    Naomi Otsuka and Thomas Gentle ’01 were married last fall in San Diego. Gentle works as a production manager for ConAgra Foods Inc. Otsuka audits BMW dealerships for TUV Rheinland. They live in Fort Worth, Texas. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue)    Rebecca (Emmerich) Johnson recently completed a master’s degree in print journalism from American University in Washington, D.C. Several of her articles have been published in USA Today. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue)    Carolyn Lex received her medical degree—and a geriatric medicine award—from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, in May. (appeared in the Fall 2004 issue)    Former Unitrans employees Jennifer Thompson and Michael Murrill ’02 were married at the UC Davis Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center in September 2003. The bridal party—which included Logan Smith ’99, Jessica (Bufton) Fought ’99, Rebecca Yoftahie ’00, Christine Del Bonta ’00 and Heather Sweet ’01—arrived on a double-decker Unitrans bus.
