1963 Frosh-Soph Brawl

'52 Fred and Ramona Stafford are proprietors of In The Field, a 1778 farm house/country inn in Chocorua, New Hampshire, which recently received a glowing review in Yankee Magazine's new Internet guide to New England, http://www.NewEngland.com. The Staffords have run the inn for over 30 years.

'58 After a 35-year career in restaurant management, Kent White has opened It's Travel Time!, a full-service travel agency in Folsom.

'61 Geoff Aggeler, Ph.D. '66, taught at the Canadian Services College, Royal Roads, before becoming a full professor at the University of Utah in 1975. In addition to teaching, Aggeler has published a novel, biography, short fiction, reviews and numerous journal articles on Renaissance and modern literature. He and his wife, Sondra Aggeler '62, live in Salt Lake City and vacationed this summer in Provence with their son Brian, a political officer with the State Department currently stationed in West Africa. Aggeler writes, "I want people to be aware that Davis Ph.D.s in the humanities are thriving. My stablemate Dave Miller [Ph.D. '66] is a dean at Purdue, and another, Bob Lougy ['62, M.A. '64, Ph.D. '66], has done well at Penn State." Sharon L. Morphy recently retired after working for 16 years with Marin County Social Services. She had previously worked for a small food brokerage company in San Francisco and the Bank of America trust department in San Rafael. Morphy married Laurie Glenn Fraser D.V.M. '61, in 1962; the couple divorced in 1972. They have two children, Barbara and Scott.

'64 Dian A. (Dooley) Gans is an associate professor of food science and human nutrition at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she is researching diet and behavior. Gans returned to school after staying at home to raise her two children; she received her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1982 and 1988. She now lives in Honolulu with her husband, Tom, and two cats, and she writes, "I would love to hear from any of my classmates from UCD '64. It doesn't seem like it's been over 30 years."

'66 Patt Schwab, a motivational speaker, was recently named a citizen member of the Washington State Bar disciplinary board. After receiving her Ph.D. in higher education administration and working for 20 years as a student affairs administrator at UC Irvine and the University of Washington, Schwab became a full-time professional speaker in 1989. She now speaks in Europe, Canada and throughout the United States on the topics of coping with change and using humor as a management tool. Schwab credits winning the UC Davis hog-calling contest in 1965 for starting her on her speaking career.

'67 Janina M. Ely, a publication specialist with a Portland, Ore., consulting firm, recently received a distinguished chapter service award from the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Ely has served as a public relations officer, second vice-president and publication competition judge for the Willamette Valley STC chapter.

'68 Jana Glenn Ntumba, a training specialist for the Madagascan government, is currently traveling throughout Madagascar supervising the training of doctors, midwives and other health professionals. Before moving to Madagascar in 1994, Ntumba worked as a consultant and training specialist in Washington, D.C., Somalia, Zaire and Boston. She and her husband have two children and are in the process of adopting a Malagasy orphan. Ntumba writes that she would enjoy hearing from other Aggies who work in the field of international development or who are missionaries overseas. '70, is a senior physician with the Permanente Medical Group at the Fresno Kaiser Medical Center. After practicing in various areas of veterinary medicine for 15 years, Kircher returned to school in 1985, obtaining his M.D. degree from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1990. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the UC San Francisco program at Valley Children's Hospital in Fresno in 1993. Kircher lives with his wife and seven children in Clovis. Michele Maleville Larsen, Cred. '70, a certified public accountant, will chair the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's 12th biennial auction in October. Larsen attended Boston University graduate school of art history and UC Extension in San Francisco before studying business and accounting at Golden Gate University. Larsen held a position with the NBC news team that covered the 1969 flight to the moon and taught school at various levels in Philadelphia and Marin County. She passed her CPA exam in 1984 and currently has an accounting practice in Kentfield.

'69 Edmundo Chavez, Cred. '70, has been appointed principal of a 1,500-student junior high school in Oxnard. In addition to having taught all the grades from kindergarten through eighth, Chavez has been in school administration for the last 15 years with the Oxnard School District.
