'90 Victoria Bailey earned a M.S.W. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and has worked as a psychotherapist for three years at the Renfrew Center, an eating disorders clinic for women. She has recently relocated to Washington, D.C.

'91 Suzie (Simpson) Forsyth of Prosser, Wash., placed 35th overall in the Hewlett-Packard International Women's Challenge bicycle race in Idaho. She reports that she had the most children--three--of any of the racers.

Dena Mangiamele, M.P.V.M., is the chief veterinarian for Los Angeles Animal Services where--in addition to caring for 80,000 lost and abandoned animals--she oversees a staff of 176 and 140 volunteers, investigates animal cruelty cases and handles administrative duties for the department. Mangiamele also appears on a weekly KTLA morning news show to present animals available for adoption.

Sheryl Saar did volunteer missionary work on the border at El Paso/Juarez this summer, while on leave from her job as contracts analyst with Sacramento County. She worked at a homeless shelter that assists new migrants.

Kelly Ternullo is a new associate of the law firm of Abbey, Weitzenberg, Kelly, Nadler, Hoffman & Emery in Santa Rosa. She is also vice president of Sonoma County Young Lawyers Association and a member of both the Sonoma County Bar Association and Sonoma County Women in Law.

Cheryl Welsh has started a nonprofit group, Citizens Against Human Rights Abuse to stop nonconsensual experimentation. She has appeared on CNN's "The American Edge" and TBS's "Topics," discussing alleged electromagnetic weapon testing on U.S. citizens without their consent.

'92 Kevin A. Johnson has been hired as an assistant professor of environmental chemistry at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

Tracy D. Louie received her doctor of optometry degree from UC Berkeley in 1996 and finished her residency in ocular disease at the Albuquerque Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New Mexico in June.

Patrick J. Shea has relocated to the London office of Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts, where he is an attorney in the firm's corporate and capital market practice group. For the next two years he will be advising U.S., United Kingdom and other European clients on U.S. law, primarily in matters associated with global securities finance.

Jeffery G. Wong has taken a position as a systems architect at Oracle Corp., dealing with Internet technology and data warehouses. He married Lisa Suzanne Yahiro, a project manager for Wells Fargo, in July, and they live in San Jose. He can be reached at <jeffw@best.com>.

'93 Marine 2nd Lt. Kevin A. Charter is on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea. He is a member of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit which recently conducted the evacuation of 2,500 Americans from Sierra Leone.

David Lee is a branch manager for MCI. He and his wife, Tanya Stanfield, live in San Diego with their daughter, Dominique.

Seth Merewitz recently graduated from UC Davis School of Law and will be joining the Sacramento firm of McDonough, Holland & Allen in its public law, land use and redevelopment section this fall.

Linda C. Sandelin was recently hired by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as its Sierra-South regional archaeologist. She will be involved in timber harvesting, controlled burn and engineering projects.

Sean A. Sangalang received his D.D.S. degree from UC San Francisco in June. He plans to start a general dentistry practice in the San Joaquin Valley.

Andrew Scholes and Molly Marshall '95 were married in June and are living in Redwood City. Marshall is working toward her master's degree in mass communication from San Jose State and is employed by Informix Software Inc. as a course developer. Scholes works for AAA Insurance as a claims representative.

Paul Thompson graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May.

'94 Julianne Chisholm, M.A., begins work on a Ph.D. in creative writing (poetry) at the University of Houston this fall. Her husband, Giulio Ruffini, Ph.D. '95, works for the Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, as a part of the Earth and Space Sciences Group.

Bradley V. DeBlanc received his J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.

Kristina Dong received her teaching credential in cross-cultural language acquisition development from San Francisco State University in May.

Stephanie Murata and Afsoon Roshanzamir '95 (see profile in summer issue, page 44), members of the U.S. women's world wrestling team, participated in the world wrestling championships in Clermont-Ferrand, France, in July but were eliminated during the first day of competition.

Lillian Taiz, Ph.D., assistant professor of history at California State University, Los Angeles, received a one-year faculty fellowship of $37,000 from the Pew Program in Religion and American History at Yale University for her project proposal "Advertising Salvation: Class, Gender, Religious Culture and the Evolution of the Salvation Army in the United States, 1879­1917."

'95 Wendy Chisholm begins her second year at Rhode Island School of Design this fall, working toward her M.F.A. in photography.

'96 Nicole Matthews was promoted to assistant director of alumni relations at the University of San Diego. She is active with the UC Davis Alumni Association's San Diego Chapter and is currently coordinating a New Student Send-Off in early September for students entering UC Davis from the San Diego area.
