Remembering a mentor

The last issue of this magazine notified us of the untimely death of Professor Richard Sinopoli, an associate professor of political science. For those of us who experienced Professor Sinopoli in the classroom, we should be considered fortunate. He was insightful, entertaining and would challenge his students in critical thinking, all the while maintaining a level of mutual respect for his students that is often absent in university professors.

For those of us who engaged Professor Sinopoli outside of the classroom, we should consider ourselves blessed. He was a thoughtful friend and mentor, always willing and wanting to lend his time and guidance to those who sought it.
