'90 Mike deBoisblanc received his doctor's degree from Tulane University's medical school in New Orleans, La. He is now a second-year surgery resident at Oregon Health Sciences University. He lives in Portland with his wife and two children, Davis, 3, and Emily, 8 months.

Vida Vreca-Aastrom was married to Allen Aastrom, a Cal Poly graduate, in November. The couple lives in Grass Valley.

'91 Ben Smith was named principal at A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm. Working in the firm's Santa Clara office, he helps manufacturing companies define business strategies and restructure their operations in order to increase their competitiveness. Smith lives in Alameda with his wife, Susan Wood, and son.

'92 William B. Archibald received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Texas, Austin. He is currently a scientist with a small company in Sunnyvale. He specializes in materials science and engineering.

John M. Gotelli works for the AIDS Foundation in San Diego and is beginning studies for a physician assistant degree. He plans to marry Kate Schroeder in May.

Kevin Arthur Johnson received his doctoral degree in environmental toxicology in December from Clemson University in South Carolina.

Calley Sciabica is working toward a doctoral degree in molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry at UC Irvine. She and her husband, Joseph, recently had their first child, Nicholas William.

Brett Vernon Thomas, M.S., received his doctoral degree in environmental toxicology in December from Clemson University in South Carolina.

Kristine Williams graduated with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, receiving a doctor's degree in optometry. She now practices in Fremont and Palo Alto.

'93 Tamara Biermann, Cred. '94, and Tim Thornell '94, who met as undergraduates at UC Davis in 1990, plan to marry this May. Thornell received his master's degree in health administration from the University of Southern California in December.

Lee Burnett, a medical student at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, was nominated to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Burnett was one of 36 chosen by the university for their academic achievements, community service and extracurricular activities.

Kevin W. Hoffer graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in December with a bachelor's degree in industrial design. He is currently working for Nike as a designer in the advanced product engineering group. He lives in Portland, Ore.

Herena Kim and Darlyne A. Kwan received doctor of chiropractic degrees from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose. Both plan to practice in the Bay Area.

Luke J. Mulder, who lives in Elk Grove, writes, "I pursue no work in particular. I take no satisfaction in awards and achievements or in renown. I am, in fact, a paragon of mediocrity. I am simply happy to be alive and to have graduated from UCD. I wish joy and success for all of my fellow alumni."

'94 Paula Snyder received her master's degree in education from Long Island University's C.W. Post campus. She now works as a high school social studies teacher. She married Mark Orzel in September. They live in Huntington, N.Y.

'96 Jennifer S. Dunham recently became an annuity specialist with Woodbridge Sterling Capital in Sacramento after working for three years with the California State Senate. Dunham will be married in Davis in May.

Greg Osborn and Gil Somera have started Internet 5 Consulting, an Internet development and marketing firm. The company is one of the first to develop virtual cities such as the one found at http://www.virtualstockton.com, which provides links to shopping centers, museums and the county library.
