A BETTER BARBIEBarbie doesn't have to be a pencil-waisted, math-challenged bimbette. Use your imagination! That's what entrants did in a "Barbies We Would Like to See" contest sponsored by the Women's Resources and Research Center. Barbie can be a robotic engineer or a triathlete, or both at once, like the first place People's Choice winner, [below left]. Other contestants included a pregnant Barbie, "Barbie Gone to Seed," "Anorexia Barbie" and "Greenpeace Barbie." Even Ken got in on the act. "Drag Queen John Smith" [below right] was the second place winner in the People's Choice category. The contest was part of the WRRC's celebration of Women's History Month. |
