| 1941George Nuckols, of Camarillo, died at age 95 on November 28. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and retired farmer and founding director of local water districts. | 1948John Alexander, Cred., of Woodland, died at age 91 on November 23. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired farmer. • Stanley Corda, Cred., of Salinas, died at age 92 on September 27. He was a retired farmer. |
| 1949Thomas Aldrich, of Colusa, died at age 90 on October 24. A World War II Army veteran, he received the Bronze Star. He was a retired UC Cooperative Extension farm advisor. • Edward “Ted” Tolman, Cred., of Nice, died at age 88 on October 15. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired U.S. Forest Service timber manager. Survivors include his son Russell ’79. |
| 1950Walter “Whitey” Schlabes, Cred., of Davis, died at age 86 on August 30. A World War II Navy veteran and Korean War Marine Corps veteran, he was a retired agricultural consultant for Yolano Ag Products and Bank of America. |
| 1953Donald Martinelli, D.V.M. ’55, of Sacramento, died at age 86 on December 23. He was a retired veterinarian for Ben Ali Veterinary Clinic. • George Thoukis, Ph.D. ’58, of Modesto, died at age 83 on December 11. He was a retired vice president of winemaking at E&J Gallo Winery. Survivors include his son Gerard ’97. |
| 1954Claire (Rominger) Stark, of Winters, died at age 81 on Jan. 14. She was a retired teacher. Survivors include her brothers Richard Rominger ’49 and Donald Rominger, Cred. ’49. • Donald Bath, M.S. ’56, Ph.D. ’64, of St. Helena, died at age 81 in October. He was an Extension dairy nutrition specialist from 1964 to 2003. He authored 350 publications, including the widely used textbook Dairy Cattle: Principles, Practices, Problems, Profits. As an undergraduate, he quarterbacked the Aggie football team and served as president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, then known as the IOTA Chapter. |
| 1956Leo Stringfellow, D.V.M ’58, of St. George, Utah, died at age 82 on September 25. He was a retired veterinarian in New Zealand and Southern California clinics. |
| 1960Ruth (Adams) Wingate, of Redding, died at age 74 on June 5. Survivors include her husband Len Wingate Jr. ’61. |

He was a Korean War Navy veteran and retired NASA’s Ames Research Center scientist. • Gary Wilson, of Bakersfield, died at age 73 on October 12. He was owner of Wilson Ag farm company. Survivors include his wife Patricia (Pensar) ’61. |
| 1965Gloria (Salsedo) Everett Collins, of Sacramento, died at age 70 on October 9. She was a Telecommunications executive for Globalstar, AirTouch, and others. Survivors include her sister Nancy (Salsedo) Meyers ’69 and brother-in-law professor emeritus James M. Meyers ’68, M.E. ’76. |
| 1966Robert “Rob” Smith, of Fairfield, died at age 69 on November 12. He was a former Benicia restaurateur and Concord real estate broker. |
| 1967Yosemite’s Songster: One Coyote’s Story, a picture book by Ginger (Evarts) Wadsworth with illustrations by Daniel San Souci, was released by Yosemite Conservancy in March 2013.
