The Campaign for UC Davis: $132 million—2nd-best year in
UC Davis history
UC Davis experienced the second-best fundraising year in its 100-plus-year history during fiscal year 2011–12, thanks to the generosity of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, foundations, corporations and students. By the June 30 end of the fiscal year, the university had received more than $132.4 million in gifts, pledges and private grants from more than 40,000 donors. This surpasses the previous fiscal year’s total of $117.6 million and marks the sixth year in a row that donations to the university exceeded $100 million.
“We appreciate each and every one of the more than 40,000 donors whose great commitment to UC Davis has made this achievement possible,” said Shaun Keister, vice chancellor for development and alumni relations. “Thank you for making a philanthropic investment in UC Davis and the future of higher education in California.”
In 2011–12, the UC Davis Annual Fund received more than $1.7 million in gifts and pledges from more than 14,600 donors.
Gifts to the Annual Fund provide the university with valuable, flexible funding to support students and faculty, and to meet emerging opportunities.
All gifts during this period count toward The Campaign for UC Davis, which aims to raise $1 billion by inspiring 100,000 donors through 2014. The university’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign began in 2006. By June 30, a total of 91,395 donors committed more than $826 million to help UC Davis advance its excellence in research, scholarship and public service.
