The Campaign for UC Davis: A symphonic gift launches Center’s 10th season
Rosalie and Larry Vanderhoef
(Karin Higgins/UC Davis)
Chancellor Emeritus Larry Vanderhoef and his wife, Rosalie, have pledged $80,000 to the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts in support of its new Artistic Ventures Fund and Annual Fund.
As the first founding members of the Artistic Ventures Fund, the Vanderhoefs will help the Mondavi Center bring major artists for extended residencies. Through their Annual Fund support, the Vanderhoefs will sponsor the San Francisco Symphony’s Sept. 27 performance, part of the Mondavi Center’s 10th anniversary celebration.
Chancellor from 1994 to 2009, Vanderhoef spearheaded efforts to build the Mondavi Center. The couple has long supported the Mondavi Center and subscribed since the 2002 inaugural season; the studio theatre is named in their honor.
