Volume 25 · Number 3 · Spring 2008
Football Under the Lights
UC Davis will host Portland State on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m., the first-ever football game under lights at newly opened Aggie Stadium and the first of six home matchups on the 2008 schedule.
Besides the Vikings, who are led by former NFL coach Jerry Glanville, the Aggies will play 6 p.m. games against Northern Colorado (Oct. 4), Southern Utah (Oct. 11, Homecoming), Iona (Oct. 18) and North Dakota (Oct. 25). The games are part of five straight at Aggie Stadium with the 55th annual Causeway Classic against rival Sacramento State culminating the home slate on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
Aggie Stadium opened in 2007, but lights were not ready for the inaugural season; they are scheduled to be installed this spring in plenty of time for the upcoming campaign. Besides the home games, UC Davis will play away at San Jose State (Aug. 30), Central Arkansas (Sept. 6), Montana (Sept. 20), Northeastern (Sept. 27), Cal Poly (Nov. 15) and the University of San Diego (Nov. 22).
It is UC Davis’ first-ever 12-game regular-season schedule. Season tickets are available by calling the UC Davis Ticket Office at (530) 752-1915 or by visiting www.ucdavisaggies.com.
